North West Greens are fielding 93 candidates in this year's round of County Council elections in Cumbria and Lancashire, compared with 61 in 2013, the last time these elections were fought. This is also well over half the seats across the 2 counties.
Numbers are particularly up in Cumbria, with 56 candidates, 25 more than in 2013. Numbers in Lancashire are also up, by 7.
This reflects the increased membership and activity of the Party across the region compared with four years ago.
Elsewhere in the region the Green Party are contesting the Greater Manchester and Liverpool Regional mayoral elections, the Manchester Gorton Parliamentary by-elections, and a number of Borough Council by-elections.
The Green Party candidates for the North West region in the Euro Elections of 23 May are:
Gina Dowding. Lancashire County Councillor. Elected.
Wendy Olsen. Salford.
Jessica Northey. St Helens.
Geraldine Coggins. Trafford Borough Councillor.
Rosie Mills. Lancaster.
Astrid Johnson. Manchester.
Dan Jerrome. Trafford Borough Councillor.
James Booth. Macclesfield.
