Green Party Councilor Andrew Cooper and fellow walkers completed a 120 mile walk across country from the Kirby Misperton site in Ryedale, Yorkshire to the Preston New Road fracking site on the Fylde. They christened the walk 'The No Fracking Way' . As the walkers approached Preston New Road, the numbers joing in the walk increased to a reception near the site.
Andrew, who is also Green Party Energy Spokesperson, brought a small sample from the Yorkshire site and Yorkshire and Lancashire activists together planted an oak sapling in mixed Lancashire and Yorkshire soil.
Blackpool Green Party Chair Duncan Royle, welcoming the walkers, said "If those traditional enemies Yorkshire and Lancashire can unite against fracking, then the whole country can unite against Fracking".
