In the recent County Council elections in Cumbria and Lancashire, the Green Party won two seats on Lancashire County Council (previously they had one seat). Chris Coates retained Lancaster Central and Sam Ritches gained Lancaster East.
The Green Party was within 300 votes of winning in two other divisions in the Lancaster area. Full Lancashire results here: here
In the divisions which make up the constituency of Lancaster and Fleetwood, the Green Party gained the second highest number of votes, behind the Tories and ahead of Labour.
Lancaster Green Party also won the City Council bye-election in Castle ward with new candidate Melanie Forrest.
In Cumbria where we stood 15 candidates compared to just 1 in 2004, our best results were close to 20%
