Liverpool Green Parliamentary Hopeful Predicts Positive Year

4 January 2015

Martin Dobson Parliamentary Candidate for Liverpool Riverside says “2015 looks like it will be a watershed year for the Green Party. People are flocking to us because we are the only party that has policies and the vision that Britain needs.

We alone have policies that tackle the increasing gap between rich and poor and will deal with the prospect of dangerous climate change.

People are getting fed up with parties that cut services, while people who can afford to pay more are taxed lightly.

People are looking for politicians that will make a real change.

The general election in May will be a chance for people to vote positively for a party with policies that they believe in not just a negative vote against the party they like the least.

I predict that the Green Party will make a larger than ever impact in national and local elections in 2015”

In 2014, the Green Party doubled it’s number of councillors in Liverpool and became the largest opposition party on Liverpool Council. It also doubled its membership and won the second largest vote across the whole city.

Nationally, The Green Party has doubled it’s membership (1) and seen a rise in the opinion polls. One poll has shown 10% support for the Greens (2), another showed 19% support from 18-24 year olds (3).

Another survey shows that Green Party policies are more popular than the policies of any other political party (4) with over 26% of people saying that they support the policies of the Greens.
